Colonial Electronics uses the current revision of IPC-A-610 Class 2 as its in-house workmanship standard. Special requirements relating to manufacturing and/or quality that differ from the class 2 standards must be identified and referenced on the RFQ and purchase order.
Note: All boards are assembled using organic fluxes and cleaned using aqueous cleaning systems. Other flux types can be used for the SMT process and hand soldering upon special request.
When requesting a quotation, please provide the following information:
- An Assembly Print, Gerber files and Bill of Materials showing reference designations. When possible, a sample assembly is very helpful. Include an AVL if parts are to be purchased by Colonial Electronic Manufacturers. (Electronic format like EXCEL preferred)
- Any special instructions or ECO documentation.
- Any special quality or manufacturing requirements (i.e. parts that must be installed post wave and wash).
- Whether lead-free (RoHs) or Not
- Quantity of boards to be built and details of palletization if boards are consigned. (Provide CAD data and Gerber files if turnkey.)
- Expected annual quantities and order lot size.
- Any other Special Request
